Portugal D7 Visa 2024 – How does it work?

The Portugal D7 Visa is perfect for Americans who plan to move to Portugal. Why?

Also known as the Retirement Visa or Passive Income Visa, the Portugal D7 Visa allows non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and their family members to apply for temporary residency in Portugal and it is used to obtain a permanent residency permit and, eventually, even citizenship.

To apply for a D7 Visa, you must meet the minimum passive income requirements and stay in Portugal for a minimum of 183 uninterrupted days per year or 8 months with breaks within the year.
